In the long process of realising the Mobile Porch we often had to rely on the excitement with which people responded to our ideas. Anton and Carolina were major players. They offered their creative thinking and expertise as professional engineers and persuaded their company Whitby Bird and Partners to sponsor Mobile Porch.

This created a very personal engagement which to me has become an important part of the atmosphere of the Mobile Porch.

This experience was strengthened from the different dialogues which took place across this multidisciplinary environment.

To me, architecture often sits between art and engineering. It was interesting to directly mediate between these two different disciplines.

What was particularly refreshing, was that the experience revealed more a bridge than a gap between these two poles.

Anton and Carolina also introduced us to Brilliant Stages who produced Mobile Porch and accommodated all our requirements within a very restricted budget.
